Fairfield City Council is set to once again host one of Sydney’s largest and brightest authentic Asian cultural celebrations. An annual celebration, the Cabramatta Moon Festival has become a feature event in NSW and considered the largest of its kind, continuing to grow from strength to strength and attracting local, interstate and international visitors alike to experience the communities much anticipated “red letter day”, marked in all the calendars of local families.
In 2017 Cabramatta welcomed more than 90,000 people to the streets, who turned out to celebrate. Some of the activities on the three live stages included noodle eating, prawn peeling and moon cake eating contests, cultural performances, culinary delights and a lantern parade led by a Moon Goddess. Crowds were also treated to the popular prawn peeling and noodle eating, temple blessings, a fishing exhibition, monster truck, amusement rides and more.
